QPPC BOWLING PIN MATCH
The event that really started the sport and defined it was the Second Chance Shoot (1975-1998), currently known as The Pin Shoot. A match has five (5) bowling pins set on a table 10m, 15, or even 20m from the shooter.
Bowling Pin Matches are fast paced, close range competitions that place a premium on accuracy, reliable equipment and ammunition. Similar to matches such as Steel Challenge, IPSC Practical or Action Matches there are a number “stages” with “strings” in each stage. Your time for knocking the pins off the table in each string, minus your worst string for each stage, plus penalties is calculated for your total score over all stages.
Shooters have a set time per string to knock as many pins off the table before you are required to stop shooting. Pins left on the table incur a three (3) second penalty.
Rules for a Bowling Pin Match are flexible. Maximum times per string, number of pins on the table, distance the table is from the shooter (10m, 15m, 20m etc), the start position of the shooter can be set by the Range Officer at the commencement of the match.
